Congressman Pat Tiberi Visits Glimcher's Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, Ohio
COLUMBUS, OH— Aug 27, 2009 —Glimcher Realty Trust (NYSE: GRT), —
one of the country’s premier retail REITs, announced that U.S. Representative Patrick J. Tiberi met today with Glimcher and industry executives at Polaris Fashion Place in Columbus, Ohio. Glimcher is a member of NAREIT, the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts, and the visit was part of NAREIT’s Grassroots program, an initiative designed to educate policymakers on the role that publicly traded real estate industry plays in local economies.
Glimcher President and Chief Operations Officer Marshall Loeb, presented an overview of company accomplishments during Glimcher’s 50-year history. Mr. Loeb also updated Rep. Tiberi on the overall retail environment, the company’s programs that benefit the community and the investments the company has made to create retail sales, taxes and jobs in Columbus, Ohio. Mike Minns, General Manager of Polaris Fashion Place, provided a tour of the mall, featuring the new open-air Lifestyle Center addition that includes tenants such as Barnes & Noble, Benihana, Cantina Laredo, Cheesecake Factory, and The Pub.
